Like many people, I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Luckily, my weight has never reached obesity, but I've been pretty close. At my heaviest I weighed 197 pounds (BMI of 29) with my lightest adult weight being 160 pounds (BMI of 23.6). My ultimate goal weight is 150 pounds (BMI of 22).
I have always loved food and have a history of overeating and binge eating. It's a daily struggle for me to control my intake, watch what I eat and resist temptations. I know what healthy foods are, I know what adequate exercise looks like, my challenge is accountability. In July 2011 I found I was struggling to control my intake and I was not being accountable for my poor diet choices, so I decided to join Weight Watchers. I don't like the idea of paying ~$16/week for the program, and I find I don't learn anything about diet, exercise and weight loss I didn't already know. What I do like is the accountability it provides and the structure of the program--what I needed was something to guide my food choices towards healthier options. Right now, the plan is to remain on the program until I reach my goal weight of 150 pounds.
Here are a few pics of me throughout my weight gain and loss--I don't have very good "before and after" pics, but these give a good idea of where I have been.
Here is a photo of me at one of my highest weights, clearly I'm hiding behind my hair! I was a size 14, L-XL in August 2003.
Here I am at about 165 pounds, size 10, M in January 2010.
